You've spent years filling your second brain. It's supposed to be a thinking tool. Mostly, it's a graveyard. Elenchi is the machine that makes your ideas fight, and the verdict is yours.

You capture everything and confront nothing. A contradiction written in March and a conviction written in July live three rooms apart in your vault and they never meet. The result is a beautifully organized archive of opinions you have never once forced to defend themselves.
Elenchus (n.) Socrates' method. Questioning a claim until its own contradictions surface and it collapses under its own weight.
The elenchus does not hand you the truth. It clears away everything that isn't true and leaves you standing in the wreckage, knowing only what survived.
Every belief gets steelmanned, then attacked from four orthogonal angles. The base-rate auditor checks the math. The motivated-reasoning detector checks the motive. OWL the contradiction-finder checks the rest of your vault. Crossfire continues until the belief either holds or collapses.
You are not the spectator. You are the source of truth the fight exists to provoke.

Thirteen prosecute. One synthesizes. One audits the other fourteen.
Before any attack, every note is tagged by epistemic kind. The Brigade prosecutes what evidence can settle. It will never refute a value. It only shows you when two of your values are quietly at war.
When the Brigade is done, the survivors and the casualties land on the docket. Each carries its survival score. Each waits for one of three rulings: keep, kill, revise.
You rule by action. A surviving belief is not "true." It is ratified by you. Ratified is the only ground truth Elenchi recognizes.
A truth you won't act on was never ground truth. It was only an opinion that hadn't lost yet.
